In the region of
Lisbon, the Guincho is located 5 km from the western most point
of Europe (Cabo da Roca), enjoying a unique microclimate that
gives it very special characteristics of wind and waves, which
can be regarded as one of the best spots for waves of Europe.

Due to the system that blows from
north to Portugal during the spring
and summer, the season starts to
wind up in April and extends through
the end of September, and the months
of June, July and August the
strongest.
Facing west, is bathed by the
Atlantic Ocean receiving the waves
form the thousands of kilometers
from the west and northwest, because
of the frequent storms that are
formed there.
This feature, along with the type of
fund and beach, make it, too, a very
tough spot, and that requires a good
command of the techniques of
windsurfing.

Guincho presents a very unstable climate, which can
